In February 2009 Refilwe started a new program called “Refilwe Enterprises”. The aim of this enterprize is to establish income generating projects that can assist in the long term sustainability of Refilwe as an organisation.
Spiritual, mental and physical sustainability is at the core of everything that Refilwe teaches and yet as an organisation it is completely reliant on external support to continue its work. The Refilwe team believes that this ‘God Idea” will help the organisation to establish a unique environment where it can also contribute towards the various programs in partnership with other donors & partners.
One of these projects is “WormCycle”, an environmentally friendly concept to generate organic fertilisers (vermi-cast) and other earthworm products. All of these projects are managed on site and used as skills development opportunities as well as a means to generate income to support the work of Refilwe.
